How the estimate works
The estimator is adapted from Seneca's savings calculator. It splits the depreciable basis (purchase price less land, plus improvements) into 5-, 7- and 15-year property and the remaining building life using reclassification assumptions for the sub-type you choose. Bonus depreciation is applied at the rate that corresponds to the placed-in-service date you enter, and the building is depreciated on a straight line over its recovery period.
It is a first look, not a study. Your actual result depends on what is in the building, its cost basis, its acquisition and placed-in-service facts, and the law that applies to it. An engineered study is built from the property itself.

Estimator questions
Still have a question? Ask Engineering.
How accurate is the estimator?
It is a first look based on typical reclassification for the sub-type you choose. An engineered study is built from the property itself, so the real result can differ.
Does the estimator apply bonus depreciation?
Yes, at the rate that matches the placed-in-service date you enter.
How do we get a number for our property?
Request a proposal. Engineering prepares the estimate, and you get a written, fixed-fee proposal within 24 to 48 hours.
Is this tax advice?
No. It is general information. Confirm treatment with your CPA.
